• A Continuing Medical Education Program Script Concordance Test is being launched to Mexican Cardiologists

• This program will assign recertification points for specialists.

  Two thousand Mexican specialists in Cardiology will participate in the Continuing Medical Education Program Script Concordance Test, which is sponsored by the Asociación Nacional de Cardiólogos de México (ANCAM) [Association of Cardiologists of Mexico] and the Sociedad Mexicana de Cardiología (SMC) [Mexican Society of Cardiology]. This annual course, which will assign recertification points, has been acknowledged by the Mexican Council of Cardiology and sponsored by the Boehringer-Ingelheim Laboratory.

  A national committee of Experts in the specialty has collaborated in the validation of the Script Concordance Test, which will be included in this education activity. The following physicians participated on behalf of ANCAM: César Rodríguez Gilabert, Hugo Ricardo Hernández García, Alfonso Lara Olivarez, Carlos Benítez Pérez, and Enrique Díaz Díaz. The following physicians represented the Mexican Society of Cardiology: Dres. Enrique Morales Villegas, Hermes Ilaraza Lomelí, José Antonio Magaña Serrano, Úrsulo Juárez Herrera, and Jesús Zuñiga Sedano.
  During the 14th National Cardiology Conference, held in Cancun, on 3-6 November, 2010, the program was presented by Dr. Arturo Abundes Velasco, former President of ANCAM and current member of the Consulting Board and by Dr. Eduardo Pleguezuelos Rodríguez, Academic Director of PRACTICUM Institute. In this event, cardiologists in attendance could participate in an interactive reasoning exercise and decision-making in clinical cases of their speciality, through the Script Concordance Test assessment.
  The Cognitive Acceleration Program using the Script Concordance Test has been validated by the Sistema Español de Acreditación de la Formación Médica Continuada (SEAFORMEC) [Spanish Accreditation System for the Continuing Medical Education] and has been acknowledged by the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
